Update on Regathering and Hybrid Worship
Mount Hollywood leadership and our regathering committee has worked hard these past few months on envisioning a plan to safely regather at our church and introduce hybrid worship. We will be taking this week by week, and we imagine that worship will continue to evolve and take shape as we lean into the creative spirit of our congregation and into our learnings each Sunday.
What to Expect if Worshipping In Person:
We are currently gathering outside in our beautiful, now shaded courtyard, and take the utmost safety precautions, including requiring masks, social distancing by pod/family, and altered communion. Everyone MUST wear a mask at all times, regardless of whether you’ve been vaccinated. Our worship leaders and musicians are all vaccinated, and will also be masked, with the exception of when they are speaking or singing. They will be a considerable distance away from those gathered. Please do not join in-person worship if you have a fever or cough or have been feeling ill, or if you have been exposed to someone with Covid in the last 10 days.
For now, we will NOT have:
-Childcare or Godly Play. For those young people present, we ask that they stay with their family or pod. We will also have worship bags with fun supplies for each young person!
-Full Coffee Hour with food. Please bring your own coffee mug for our beverage only coffee hour.
What to Expect if Worshipping on Zoom:
We are striving to maintain the intimacy and connection that we have cultivated and been blessed by these last 18 months, and will be trying different ways to do this. For the time being, there will be a Zoom hospitality person present at in-person worship who will help connect everyone. They will be available in the chat for any questions. You will be invited to share your prayers aloud or in the chat, and our Zoom hospitality person will unmute you for all gathered to hear. Same goes for announcements and the passing of the peace. Virtual coffee hour will be among those gathered on Zoom for now, though people gathered in-person may pop in to say hello!
